The 6th Annual Culinary Kickoff™ Comes to Florida’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood with Chefs Charlie Palmer, Michael Mina, Tito Vargas, Michael Voltaggio, Jason Atherton and friends to benefit The Culinary Institute of America

The much-anticipated event to debut a new format at world’s first Guitar Hotel in January 2020

Today, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood announces it will host the sixth annual Culinary Kickoff January 30, 2020 to benefit the Culinary Kickoff Scholarship Fund at The Culinary Institute of America. The event will take place at DAER Dayclub, the hotel’s new outdoor venue and part of the recent $1.5 billion expansion, where celebrated Chefs Charlie Palmer, Michael Mina, Thomas Keller, Michael Voltaggio, Adam Sobel and Scott Romano join hotel Executive Chefs Robert Ciborowski, Alex Becker, Tito Vargas, and Ross Evans for the annual kick-off to the Big Game.

Launched in 2012, Culinary Kickoff was created to launch the Big Game’s weekend festivities with an exclusive event and star-studded after party. The notable chefs, paired with elite wineries, and celebrities, celebrate this event each year to help raise money for the Culinary Kickoff Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for future culinarians and is designed to develop culinary artistry, creativity, and excellence in students during their college studies.

In years past, the Culinary Kickoff format has begun with a cocktail reception followed by a four-course dinner with each course created by the host chefs and paired with wine from winery partners and concluded with a special live music performance and after party. This year, in lieu of a sit-down dinner, host chefs will be helming individual culinary stations offering two versions of a dish. Each station will include a pairing with wine partners including: Silver Oak, Twomey, Charles Woodson, JaM Cellars, John Anthony Vineyards, Hogwash Rose, JCB by Jean-Charles Boisset. Sample menu items include:

  • Chefs Michael Mina and Adam Sobel —Yemenite Beef Short Rib with Matbucha
  • Chefs Charlie Palmer and Scott Romano — Garlic Roasted Duck Breast with truffle perlage, smoked crème fraîche, duck egg emulsion, saffron pepitas
  • Chef Michael Voltaggio’s — Big Game-inspired Shellfish station
  • Abiaka | Chef Tito Vargas — Pork Rillettes, Foie Gras Torchon, Mango Mostarda
  • Kuro | Chef Alex Becker’s Chirashi — Hokkaido Uni, Kegani Crab, Toro Tartar, Caviar

The evening will also be complemented by a dessert station by the hotel’s Executive Pastry Chef Ross Evans.

“We are delighted to host this year’s Culinary Kickoff and partner with the incredible culinary talent that created this amazing event years ago,” said Bo Guidry, President, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood. “We look forward to showcasing our new Guitar Hotel and expansion and giving the attendees and guest Chefs an exceptional experience while enjoying all the excitement leading up to game day.”
