Council Oak Steaks & Seafood Restaurant at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Receives Wine Spectator Award of Excellence 2009

Hollywood, Fla. – Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, the highly acclaimed world-class gourmet restaurant at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, has received Wine Spectator magazine's Restaurant Wine List Award of Excellence 2009. This is the first time the restaurant has received this prestigious honor.

Wine Spectator's Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. To qualify for an award, the list must present complete, accurate wine information. It must include vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory, while the overall presentation and appearance of the list is also taken into consideration.

"We're delighted to be recognized by Wine Spectator for offering variety, quality and depth in our wine selections," said Joseph Beja, director of food and beverage for the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. "We've worked hard to fine tune our offerings to be a serious contender for this award and we invite the public to sample some of the most superlative and hand-picked wines available in South Florida."

Council Oak Steaks & Seafood Restaurant presently offers over 300 wines from more than 13 countries; up 150 labels from last year. While selections are available to meet several tastes and budgets, the restaurant is proud to offer Magnum bottles and high-end wines that include several first growth wines from the Bordeaux region of France priced from $1,500 to $4,500 a bottle.

Sophisticated, yet inviting and friendly, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood Restaurant, presided over by Executive Chef Peter Mavraides, offers genuine, 100% U.S.D.A. prime dry-aged stockyard beef from a butcher shop located in the front of the restaurant. The freshest line-caught seafood from local waters, plus king crab legs are flown in fresh from the Bering Sea from the boats that are featured on the Discovery Channel hit show, "World's Deadliest Catch". Council Oak also features an extensive wine-by-the-glass selection and intimate wine-bar seating. Live entertainment is offered nightly in a separate lounge area and Sunday brunches complete with a chocolate fountain dessert station set the standard even higher.
