The one-of-a-kind event has been described by many as the "must- not-miss" party of the year. Proceeds from the event will benefit children fighting cancer in the tri-county area of South Florida.
Chaired by Jen Klaassens, vice president of programs for The Wasie Foundation, and produced by Events by Vento Designs, the Fancy Jeans Party will feature live interactive entertainment, surprise appearances, a "Best Dressed Fancy Jeans" contest, a raffle including a 2013 FIAT grand prize plus two more extraordinary prizes and a silent auction. Dance the night away while enjoying tasty delights and an open bar courtesy of Premier Beverage.
Melissa Gomez, a four-year-old fighting Leukemia, has been chosen to be the 2013 Fancy Jeans Child Honoree. Due to Gomez' fragile medical circumstances and frequent hospitalizations, her mother had no choice but to give-up working in order to become her full-time caregiver. Her father works as a self-employed taxi driver which the past year has earned little income in an unstable market. The JJCCF has provided emergency financial assistance to cover the family's basic needs so they can focus on Melissa's survival. JJCCF's Financial Assistance and Advocacy Programs have been providing funding to cover payments for electricity, water, phone, car, groceries and gas gift cards. Melissa wishes for Shakira to be her idol date at the Fancy Jeans Party. Additional information about Gomez and her special wish can be found here (invitation) and here (family interview).
