Seminole Tribe of Florida to Host 42nd Annual Seminole Tribal Fair Feb. 8 - 10 at Hard Rock Live; Free Bellamy Brothers Concert on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Cultural Festival to Feature Alligator Wrestling, Native American Dance Troupes, Live Entertainment, Handicrafts and More
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (January 23, 2013) – The Seminole Tribe of Florida will hold its highly anticipated 42nd annual Tribal Fair Feb. 8 - 10, 2013 at Hard Rock Live and Seminole Okalee Indian Village at Seminole Paradise at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This free, three-day cultural event will feature a concert by The Bellamy Brothers, deep-water alligator-wrestling shows, Native American dance troupes, folk music performances and more.
Gates will officially open at 9 a.m. on Feb. 8 and commencement ceremonies with Tribal dignitaries, Seminole Veterans' Color Guard and Seminole Royalty will take place at 10 a.m. at Hard Rock Live. Dance performances, by the Tloke Nahuake Traditional Aztec Dancers, Crystal John and WISDOM Dancers will inspire guests while musical performances by the Osceola Brothers, the Savage Twins and the Paul Buster Band will entertain audiences throughout the event.
Deep-water alligator shows at the Seminole Okalee Indian Village will take place each day of the Tribal Fair and a variety of vendors will offer a wide array of traditional jewelry, fabric, baskets, crafts and food that showcase Seminole culture.
On Saturday, February 9 at 2 p.m., Native American Kenny Dobbs, 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend Amateur Slam Dunk Champion, will perform. Dobbs, a member of the Choctaw Nation, is known as "The Dunk Inventor" and was selected as the eighth pick in round eight of the 2012 NBDL Draft, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. Dobbs is recognized internationally as the best basketball slam dunk artist in the world and tours with the NBA and Sprite as a celebrity dunker performing in front of sold out stadiums during halftime shows, celebrity games and NBA All-Star Weekends. He has appeared on ESPN, Fox Sports and NBA TV and has become a YouTube sensation. Dobbs inspires youth by empowering his generation to set goals, envision themselves as leaders and encouraging them to never lose sight of their dreams.
Another weekend highlight will include a concert by The Bellamy Brothers on Sunday, February 10 at 1 p.m. For more than 30 years, the Bellamy Brothers of Darby, Florida, have been an unassuming picture of consistency in country music, crafting honest, heartfelt songs that connect with millions of listeners around the world.
